Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement – ProCare Agency LTD

Pursuant to Section 54(1), Modern Slavery Act 2015

Our Position on Modern Slavery

Modern slavery encompasses a range of exploitative practices including slavery, servitude, forced labour, and human trafficking. ProCare Agency LTD maintains a strict zero-tolerance stance on all forms of modern slavery and human exploitation.

We are unequivocally committed to conducting all aspects of our business with transparency, integrity, and ethical responsibility. This extends across our internal operations and throughout our external supply chains. We proactively implement and monitor robust systems and controls designed to prevent any instance of modern slavery within our organisation or the third parties we engage with.

About ProCare Agency LTD

ProCare Agency LTD is a UK based domiciliary care services provider, supporting individuals through both local authority commissions and privately funded arrangements. Our mission is to deliver consistently high standards of compassionate, safe, and person-centred care.

Commitment to Ethical Conduct and Inclusion

We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or any form of bullying within our organisation. All ProCare managers are expected to uphold our equality and inclusion frameworks, ensuring that both employees and agency workers are treated fairly and with respect. Our policies are designed to foster a diverse and inclusive workforce, underpinned by equal opportunity.

Policies and Governance

This statement outlines the preventative steps ProCare Agency LTD has taken, and continues to take, to mitigate the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking.

Our internal policies include:

  • Whistleblowing Policy: Accessible to all staff, agency workers, suppliers, and external stakeholders. We actively encourage reporting of suspected wrongdoing, including breaches of human rights. Every report is taken seriously, investigated thoroughly, and responded to appropriately, in partnership with relevant safeguarding and care organisations.

  • Recruitment and Right-to-Work Checks: We conduct comprehensive eligibility checks for all new employees, including original documentation verification, to ensure full legal compliance with UK employment laws.

  • Code of Conduct: All staff are required to adhere to our professional conduct standards, which explicitly cover expectations on equality, ethical behaviour, and safeguarding.

We continuously review our policies to ensure alignment with best practices in combatting modern slavery and human trafficking.

International and Ethical Standards

ProCare Agency LTD is committed to upholding internationally recognised human rights standards, including the International Bill of Human Rights and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. These principles are embedded into our organisational policies and define the ethical framework through which we manage both our workforce and our supply chain.

Respect for the dignity and rights of every individual—whether employed directly, indirectly, or through agency relationships—is a core tenet of our operational philosophy.

Supply Chain Risk Management

Our supply chain includes providers of care staff, clinical consumables, facilities maintenance, utilities, and waste management services. To mitigate risk:

  1. We undertake due diligence on all new suppliers before engagement, including reviewing public records for any modern slavery convictions.

  2. All supplier contracts include mandatory clauses requiring adherence to our modern slavery policy.

  3. UK-based suppliers must confirm they pay at least the national minimum or living wage and meet all relevant employment standards.

  4. Suppliers with overseas operations must assure us that wages, conditions, and worker protections align with international labour standards.

  5. Any failure to comply with our anti-slavery obligations may lead to immediate termination of supplier contracts.

Ongoing Risk Assessments and Awareness

We conduct regular risk assessments across our supply chain and operational divisions to identify any vulnerabilities. This includes:

  • Mapping high-risk categories within procurement.

  • Ensuring staff are trained to recognise signs of modern slavery.

  • Providing clear safeguarding pathways for concerns to be raised and addressed.

Measuring Effectiveness

We assess the effectiveness of our actions through the following performance indicators:

  • Absence of reported incidents from employees, external parties, or safeguarding authorities indicating potential modern slavery.

  • Internal audit outcomes indicating strong compliance with anti-slavery protocols.

Speaking Up – Direct Reporting Channels

We encourage any individual—whether internal or external to the business—to raise concerns regarding modern slavery. Reports may be submitted confidentially and will be handled with the utmost seriousness and discretion.

We uphold a policy of non-retaliation for individuals who report concerns in good faith. No person will face adverse treatment for doing so, even if the concerns raised ultimately prove to be unfounded. Malicious or deliberately false reports, however, may lead to disciplinary action.

Accountability

Responsibility for the implementation and oversight of this statement resides with the Chief People Officer of ProCare Agency LTD. All managers are accountable for ensuring their teams understand and comply with this policy, and that relevant training is delivered regularly across the business.

Commitment to Continuous Improvement

We recognise that the risk of modern slavery is dynamic. As such, we are committed to reviewing and enhancing our risk mitigation measures regularly. Our approach is embedded in our internal audit programme, which assesses compliance, effectiveness, and opportunities for improvement.
